Peter  Sutherland is an Irish international businessman and former Attorney General of Ireland. He is a barrister by profession, and is also Senior Counsel at the Irish Bar. He is also known for serving in a variety of business and political roles. He served as Director General of the World Trade Organization from July 1993 to May 1995. In 2013, University College Dublin law school was renamed the Sutherland School of Law in his honor, following his financial contribution to the newly completed law teaching facility. He is chairman of Goldman Sachs International.
