About Prof Sorby:

Visiting Professor in the Engineering Education and Innovation Centre at The Ohio State University and Professor Emerita of Mechanical Engineering-Engineering Mechanics at Michigan Technological University.

  • “An Educational Innovator, which she has demonstrated through her research and throughout her career at Michigan Tech.” Bill Predebon Chair Mechanical Engineering -Engineering Mechanics.
  • Principal investigator on a National Science Foundation funded project to develop a curriculum in service systems engineering at Michigan Tech. This new engineering specialty focuses on people and human behaviour, on processes rather than products.

  • Dr Thérèse Dooley, Lecturer in Mathematics Education St Patricks College Drumcondra Thérèse is extensively involved in the design and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in mathematics education and in the supervision of masters and doctoral theses.
  • Cathy Quinn, Programme Manager STEM initiatives at the Irish Computer Society ICS Skills. Cathy runs STEM related programmes such as F1 in Schools, Scratch and Tech Week. A key objective is to increase awareness of STEM careers in particular Choose IT programmes.
