Tara was appointed by the Taoiseach Brian Cowen to the National Disability Authority Board from December 2009 to December 2013 and is a member of the National Disability Strategy Authority sub-committee. She also sits on the Global Autism Public Health Advisory Board. In 2011 Tara was awarded the JCI Outstanding Young Person of the Year Award for Children and Human Rights. Previous awards include the Irish America Magazine “The Global 100” List in 2009, and You Business “Top 100 Business Women” 2009. In 2007 she was inducted into Ashoka (The International fellowship of Social Entrepreneurship). She is presently the Social Entrepreneur In Residence of 2into3 which is Ireland’s premiere not-for-profit management consultancy firm current clients of which are the Dublin Simon Community and Headway, and founding CEO and Chairman of Release Communication Intervention.
