Over 150 members of the IUSA and US Embassy Youth Council representatives attended the Thanksgiving Reception hosted by Ambassador Kevin F. O’ Malley at his residence in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, on Tuesday evening, 22nd November.
For many attending the event it was their first time to visit the stunning Ambassador’s residence, which was formerly Deerfield Lodge, the residence of the Chief Secretary to Dublin. The 18th Century building on 62 acres became the Ambassador’s official residence in 1927.
Ambassador O’ Malley welcomed everyone present on what was his last Thanksgiving Reception in Dublin. He thanked the large gathering and said he would return to the US with many fond memories of Ireland. He also stressed a bright economic future for Ireland in the coming years.
USA President, Declan Dunne, thanked the Ambassador and his staff for hosting the event and urged those present, particularly Youth Council members, to join the IUSA
